Refund Policy
Version 2026-08-10-v3
This Refund Policy explains how Alera handles charges for paid subscriptions and related purchases. Alera is educational software—not a medical device and not a substitute for clinical care. Payment card processing is handled by Stripe; Alera does not store full card numbers.
Soft-launch Pro trial
During soft launch, selecting Pro may start a no-card trial for a limited period (see Pricing and your Settings → Subscription). There is no charge for that trial period while it remains active and unpaid.
Paid plans (Basic, Pro after trial, Max)
Paid subscriptions renew on the billing interval you choose (monthly or yearly) until canceled. Charges appear through Stripe under Alera’s merchant descriptor.
- Cancel anytime in Settings or by contacting support before the next renewal to avoid the following period’s charge
- Access to paid tools generally continues through the end of the paid period already charged, unless otherwise stated at checkout
When refunds may be issued
Unless required by law, subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started. We may issue a full or partial refund at our discretion when:
- You were charged because of a clear billing error attributable to Alera or Stripe configuration
- Duplicate charges for the same period
- Service was materially unavailable for a prolonged period due to an Alera outage (not local network or third-party Auth/payment downtime alone)
- Required by applicable consumer law in your jurisdiction
How to request a refund
Email privacy@aleralabs.io with subject “Refund request” and include the account email, approximate charge date, amount, and reason. We may ask for Stripe receipt details to locate the payment.
Free plan
The Free plan has no subscription fee. Optional paid upgrades are governed by this policy and our Terms.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before filing a card chargeback so we can help resolve billing issues. Unresolved chargebacks may lead to account suspension while we investigate fraud or misuse.
